HSM Update
HSM Parents and Students,
It's crazy how time flies when you are having fun. And that is exactly what the High School group has been up to. We had our Fall Retreat in the beginning of October. The theme this year was Incredible Weekend. We had our student leaders stepping it up and speaking on practical ways to build a relationship with Christ in their everyday lives. The weather was amazing. God truly was with us this weekend. The students had fun playing games, having quiet time and building new friendships. This event is always a great way to start the school year off.
Throughout the month of October we have had a few new things going on.
Sunday JAMZ was kicked off and is growing. This is a neat opportunity for students who just like to jam and can come together on Sundays and play together.
Our student leaders are doing great things including putting on Student Sundays at the end of each month. This is where students work together to form a service from start to finish. They take turns doing announcements, music, and teaching. It's so amazing to see how God is growing each of our students and taking them further into their relationship with Him.
We had a great End of October Gathering. It was a fun hangout with about 45 students and leaders fellowshipping together. There was food, games, and bonfire (even though it was wet wood and didn't want to light) and a movie. It is always fun watching the students come together to just hang out. They are becoming a close-knit group that love being with each other.
Coming up in November we have the Northwest Nazarene University campus tour (Explore NNU) trip the 18th-20th. If your student is interested in attending NNU or just wants to come check it out, talk to Pastor Greg. We have Sunday JAMZ and Theology Under 30 this month as well. We will be moving into the new building here shortly, so keep a look out for that. Always check the web (www.salemnaz.org/hs) for current information on events and things happening. Thank you for all you do as parents to encourage your students to be a part of the youth group and as students making your walk with God a priority in your life.
We will continue to see you all Sunday mornings at 9:15 am and Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm.
